I liked how we were able to read the thoughts of both main characters. If I Stay by Gayle FormanWhat did I like best about this book?
What I liked about this book was that it was very detailed on how it happened and it gave flash backs from the past to support the theme of the book. Summary: If I stay is a book about a girl that had a car accident which changes her life. She is faced with the decision of whether she wants to fight to live or let go. Looking for Alaska by John GreenWhat did I like best about this book?
The best thing I liked about this book was the characters. They all were so different yet so real and had very interesting personalities. The way they were was not something I usually see on a daily basis. Summary: A boy named Miles whose nickname is Pudge goes to a boarding school to see a Great Perhaps. While he is there he meets four new friends. They do crazy things there but a traumatic event changes their lives forever. I like how a young student is going through a life crisis and has to deal with challenges. He gets a girlfriend with a psycho father, he is having social problems at school, and finds that his father is selling stolen products. Summary: A young kid, who is abused by his father, dates the most popular girl in school. His life seem to become a little bit better until a fight broke off in his school, his girlfriend's father is a maniac, and his mother is away with a family member in a hospital, and he has to take care of his abusive father. The way the author writes is amazing, and you're probably going to be yelling at Lia, the main character, a lot. The story is filled with questions you want answered. Summary: Lia is haunted by her former best friends death. She feels responsible for it, and she wants to figure out what happened the night she died. This book kept me coming back for more! My attention was kept by the mysterious, unanswered, and suspenseful things. Also I kept track of all the wrong things Courtland (the main character) did. Most times I ended a chapter with my mouth wide open as so, 😦😯. This book was just wonderful. Summary: Courtland Murphy was a very strict raised 16 year old. She was a cheerleader at her school and her alcoholic father, and Christian mother did not allow her to date. Drawing attention from the most popular and beautiful basketball player a new relationship started, and her life began to change. Allen Benson first approach Courtland for help with school work, and this turned into a relationship. Everything was all cute until one day Allen hit her, he apologize and she stayed. This happened a lot ever so often. She was warned , but she did not listen. She was part of a program at her church called, Worth The Wait. It was to help teens practice abstinence, and Courtland was tested one night. Will she give it up? What will Allen do? Why is "love"so complicated? Is this love or lust? I liked the whole plot. The characters we're very realistic. What I liked most about this book was the fact that it was interesting to read and made me want more. Summary: Julio was from Texas and Romiette was from St.Louis. Romiette and Julio first met on the internet. They immediately connected and wanted to meet. When they finally met, it started a dispute in the school, because of their races.They find a way to be together, but they face a consequence that may cost them their lives. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse AndrewsWhat did I like best about this book?
I like how this book is about a sensitive issue but it also has a very comical tone to it. It's not sad and depressing like you would expect. I love the characters , such as earl who was very funny but sensitive when it comes to Rachel and her illness. Summary: Greg used to have a girlfriend named Rachel when he was in elementary and broke her heart. In high school , he finds out that she has cancer and his mother forces him to be friends with her. So Greg and his film making buddy , Earl go over and make videos and movies for Rachel and befriend her. Rachel passes away but she LOVES the movies. Greg ends up making a movie about Rachel and it actually turns out to suck. So he ends his career. Sensitive Material: The story is based on a girl named Rachel who has cancer. I liked how the book is a journal about a girl talking about her life. Summary: A teacher Mrs.Dunphrey has assigned the class to write on their journals every day and if u didn't want her to read it you would write "Don't read this " and she would not. A student names Tish did not believe she would not read it if you would of write "Don't read" so she tested the teacher to see and wrote down one of her secrets. The journal ended up being her best friend it was a journal where she had written what was going on with her life including her mom leaving her with her little brother. The suspense is the best part of the book. Unlike most books every chapter is entertaining and it makes you want to keep reading. Summary: The book talks about 2 best friends a boy and a girl that make a list before high school of all the things they would never do. Towards the end of their senior year the rediscover the list and try to see what it would have been like to do some of the things on the list. On of the things is never fall in love with your best friends . However Dave has been in love with his best friend Julia for awhile. To see if the end up together you have to read the book 😊. A part that I really liked from this book was romance. Lots of romantic parts. They way the two main characters fell in love. Summary: This book is about a guy who was in the army and finds a picture of a girl. This guy has been telling everyone who does the picture belong to. The guy goes home and tries to find a job. The book had so many flashbacks and great tell about how a schizophrenia would act when they have panic attacks and everything else. Summary: This book is about how a boy who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia after his brother got kidnapped. The boy wishes to make everything but till a special someone comes back to town and causes him to go crazy. My favorite thing about this book is the moral of the story and the message it sends to young readers. What I liked about this book is that it had a suspenseful vibe and I like books like that. Plus I love the author I have probably read all of her books and this one is at the top of my list so far.
