Night by Elie WieselWhat did I like best about this book?
The historical event of the holocaust and the experience of the character and the way he tells it is what I liked best about the book. Summary: Elie and his family go through the Holocaust and get split up along the way. As the young 12 year old Ellie Wiesel is a young boy he and his family is one of the last people to be put in the ghettos. His family is separated but he and his father stay together as he lies about his age to stay with his father. As time goes his father becomes weak and he does too. He has to find a way to survive and help his dying father too. Sensitive Material: It is about the Holocaust and World War II so it has very gruesome scenes. Orange is the New Black by Piper KermanWhat did I like best about this book?
The writing style and use of slang makes the author seem really down to earth but at the same time the book has great imagery as well. Summary: The story is about a women named Piper Kerman who incidentally was put in jail due to a bad past with the wrong people and this is a story about her experiences as well as the story of the new friends she makes in jail and how it changes her. Sensitive Material: There are some uses of profanity in the book and possibly might have mature content. Recommended by David A. |
